Sara del Rey Interview

First of all I want to say thank you for answering my questions Sara, is a great opportunity for Spanish fans to meet one of the best female wrestlers of the moment.
- Why did you decide to start to train for being a pro wrestler?
I loved pro wrestling and wanted to show a more athletic part to the womens wrestling that was popular in the late 90's.
- Since your debut in 2001 which was the best moment in your career? And the worst?
The worst is after a bad match...unfortunately there have been many. One of the best moments was meeting Aja Kong.
- Among all titles you have won in your career, which was the most important you think you have worn in your waist?
The JAPW title because it is the one I have now!
- Speaking of titles, you were Intergender Tag Team Champion with Chris Hero, what can you tell us about this type of match?
I still am!!!! I love wrestling guys it is a whole different set of skills you have to use and I enjoy the challenge.
- Pro Wrestling Illustrated ranked you as the sixht best female wrestler in 2008, do you aspire to raise this position in this year?
I think I should have been number one in 08 but the ranking is based on many things other than skill. I am number one to someone out there and that is good enough for me.
- What do you think about "Shimer Women Athletes" and its work for improving female wrestling?
It's great owing people a different wrestling product from what they are used to seeing from womens wrestling.
- Who is your most competitive rival nowadays? What can you tell us about her?
Amazing Kong... her size, strength and agility make her an amazing competitor. I love wrestling with her, she is one of the few girls that you can push yourself with and get the same back.
- WWE has a "Divas only" concept and they are more concentrated in the "Good-looking" than in "Good wrestling". I think this can be bad for female wrestling but, what do you think about it?
I think they actually have a very good group of girls that are very talented in the ring.
- Now you are part of the new JAPW's women's division. Are there good expectatives for this new part in JAPW, where you are the current reining champion?
I think they have a very strong women's division and they are always bringing in top female talent so the sky is the limit for them. I am proud to be the JAPW womens first champion!
- Among all moves you perform in your matches, which is your favourite one? Why?
I like the basic mat wrestling... I hate moves a trained monkey can do, moves that means nothing!
- Who is your favourite male wrestler nowadays? Why?
Bryan Danielson...Do I really need a reason??? He is awesome!
- When you were a child, which were the wrestlers you focus on?
I LOVED George "The Animal" Steel.
- If WWE or TNA offer you a contract, will you accept?
Yes.
- For people who dont't know you, which match from you do you reccomend them to watch?
I recommend them to pick up any Shimmer Volume they can...I also recommend they checkout my DVD Golden Memories they can order off my myspace..www.myspace.com/saradelrey.
- Thanks so much for your time and for answering our questions. Would you want to say something for Spainish fans, especially Pressingcatch.org users?
Thank you for taking the time to read this, please support independent wrestling and everything involving it!
